Varsey Rhododendron Sanctuary or is a small sanctuary in West Sikkim. Khanchendzonga Biosphere Reserve is at the North of the sanctuary and Singalila National Park is at South. For being amidst in between a biosphere reserve and a national park, Varsey Rhododendron Sanctuary is rich with bio diversity. But the main attraction of this place is Rhododendron flower. These flowers bloom in the month of March, April and May. That is why most of the tourists visit this place at this time. But throughout the year Varsey is beautiful with its natural mesmerizing grace.
Nearest Airport : Bagdogra airport (IXB). It is about 121 kilomeres by road from Bagdogra to Varsey.
From Bagdogra take Sevoke road. From Melli, take the road to Jorethang. Then reach Hilley via Nabazar, Soreng, Karthok. Hilley is the last motorable point near Varsey. After reaching there, you have to trek another 4 kilometers through pine forest to reach Varsey Rhododendron Sanctuary.
Nearest Railway Station : New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (NJP). It is about 116 kilometers by road from NJP to Varsey or Barsey.
