Koraput is a town and a Municipality in Koraput district in Odisha. It is also known as the Switzerland of Odisha. Koraput is a part of tribal belt in southern Odisha, The Dongar festival is held annually in first and second weeks of December. Renowned for its lush green landscapes and rolling hills. The region is well known for its tribal culture, with various indigenous communities, each contributing to its unique heritage through craft, music and dance. This is also home to several significant spots, Duduma waterfalls and Koraput lake.
By Air: The nearest airport to Koraput is the Jagdalpur Airport (also known as MAA), situated approximately 150 kilometers away. Though it has limited connectivity, you can find flights from major cities like Raipur. Alternatively, Visakhapatnam Airport (VTZ), about 300 kilometers away, offers more flight options and better connectivity. From either airport, you can hire a taxi or use public transport to get to Koraput.

By Road: Traveling by road is another excellent way to reach Koraput. National Highway 26 connects Koraput to major cities in Odisha, such as Bhubaneswar and Berhampur. If you're driving from Visakhapatnam, it takes about 6-7 hours to cover the distance of approximately 300 kilometers. If you are driving from Kolkata you have to take the route from Kharagpur to Balasore then Bhubaneswar to Berhampur.
