Takdah is one of the most charming off beat destination for nature lovers in Eastern India region. Takdah cantonment was a British cantonment at the British age. Many officers used to come here and stay. So, some British bungalows were built up for their stay in Takdah. Now a days, these bungalows has been transferred as guest house or resort for tourist accommodation. In very recent time, this place has been very popular among nature lover travelers for its unique natural beauty as well as the feeling to stay in British Bunglow. There are about 15 British colonial bunglows in Takdah. Most of them has been converted to resort or homestay or guest house. The bunglows are locally known as ‘kothi’. The dense pine forest, Orchid gardens are one of the most attractions of this place. Some tea gardens are also there in Takdah.

Lamahatta – Lamahatta is also a neighbor village of Takdah. This place is famous for the man made Lamahatta Park. Lamahatta is about 14 kilometers from Takdah by road.
Dawaipani – Dawaipani is a tiny hamlet near Takdah. You can discover one of the best view of Mt. Khanchendzonga range from Dawaipani if you are lucky enough to get clear sky. Dawaipani is about 16 kilometers from Takdah by road.
Chota Mangwa – Chota Mangwa is a beautiful place from where you will find the confluence of Teesta and Rangit river along with beautiful natural beauty. It is about 14 kilometers from Chota Mangwa to Takdah.
Bara Mangwa – Bara Mangwa is also a beautiful place with Orange garden and charming natural beauty. It is about 17 kilometers from Takdah.

From Siliguri (about 80 km): Take NH10 towards Darjeeling. After reaching Kalimpong, turn onto the gangtok highway and follow the signs to Takdah.
From Darjeeling (about 28 km): Take the road towards Jorebungalow and continue on to Takdah.
