Best Time to Visit

The best time to explore Darjeeling and Gangtok is from March to June and September to December. Spring and summer offer clear skies and pleasant weather, perfect for sightseeing and outdoor activities, while autumn and early winter provide a breathtaking view of snow-capped peaks and festive celebrations. Avoid the monsoon season (July-August) due to heavy rains and landslides.

  • Upon arrival at NJP Railway Station or Bagdogra Airport, meet and greet our representative.
  • Transfer to Darjeeling via private vehicle (approximately 3-4 hours). Enjoy the scenic drive through lush tea gardens and rolling hills.
  • Spend the evening at leisure, exploring the local markets or relaxing at your hotel.
  • Start your day early with a visit to Tiger Hill (8,364 ft.) to witness the spectacular sunrise over the Kanchenjanga Peak (weather permitting).
  • On the way back, explore Ghoom Monastery and the Batasia Loop. After breakfast, proceed for a half-day tour covering the Japanese Temple, Peace Pagoda, Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park & Himalayan Mountaineering Institute (closed on Thursdays), Tenzing & Gombu Rock, Tibetan Refugee Self-Help Center (closed on Sundays), and a scenic Tea Estate.
  • Alternatively, you may visit Rock Garden & Ganga Maya Lake. Return to the hotel for an overnight stay.
  • After breakfast, embark on a full-day excursion to Mirik Lake (5,800 ft.), a serene hill town located about 50 km from Darjeeling (2-hour drive).
  •  Visit Pashupati Nagar at the Indo-Nepal border for shopping and enjoy horse riding and boating at Mirik Lake (optional, direct payment basis). Return to Darjeeling in the evening for an overnight stay.
  • Post breakfast, set out on a scenic journey to Gangtok, the capital of Sikkim (approximately 5 hours).
  • Enjoy picturesque views of the Eastern Himalayas along the way. Spend your evening at leisure, exploring MG Marg, shopping for souvenirs, or trying local Sikkimese delicacies. Overnight stay at the hotel.
  • After breakfast, proceed for an excursion to the breathtaking Tsomgo Lake (12,400 ft.) and the revered Baba Mandir (13,200 ft.), located 55 km from Gangtok.
  •  The shimmering glacial lake, surrounded by snow-capped mountains, offers a mesmerizing experience. In case of any permit restrictions, alternative city sightseeing will be arranged.
  • Return to Gangtok in the evening for an overnight stay.
  • Enjoy a full-day city tour of Gangtok (9:00 AM to 4:30 PM).
  • Visit Banjhakri Falls, Gunjang Monastery, Sikkim Research Institute of Tibetology, Dodurl Chorten, Government Institute of Cottage Industry (closed on Sundays and 2nd Saturdays), Orchid House Flower Show, and the Gangtok Ropeway (ticket charges to be paid directly).
  • After lunch, explore Tashi View Point, Ganesh Tok, and Bakthang Falls. Return to the hotel and enjoy a free evening. Overnight stay at Gangtok.
  • After breakfast, check out from the hotel and transfer to NJP Railway Station or Bagdogra Airport for your return journey.
